Internationally acclaimed formwork and scaffolding company invests in Southern Africa
PERI Group, one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of formwork and scaffolding systems worldwide, has successfully negotiated the takeover of Wiehahn Formwork and Scaffolding. PERI is a global, family owned and operated business based in Germany and one of the leading brands in formwork worldwide. The extensive PERI services are provided by 49 subsidiary companies in more than 60 countries.
PERI aims to provide the highest quality products and the best solutions to meet clients’ needs while continually striving to be innovative. With a wide range of formwork and scaffolding systems as well as extensive supplementary services, PERI helps its customers to carry out their tasks effectively and safely, thereby increasing the cost-effectiveness.
Wiehahn has been one of the market leaders in the South African formwork and scaffolding industry for over 40 years and the sole PERI distributor for more than 10 years. Consequently, PERI is already an established brand in the South African market.
PERI acknowledges the accomplishments of Wiehahn Formwork and Scaffolding and look forward to building on this success. They are looking at further investment in the market, which will potentially create new jobs. PERI is committed to the continuation of Wiehahn’s conventional and established product range and specialised formwork manufacturing capabilities, in order to meet the specific market demands and the local construction methods. The know-how of PERI specialists and their experience gained from projects worldwide will give additional impetus for further development of solutions, systems and products for the local market. PERI Group embraces the progress that Wiehahn has made in terms of BBBEE and is committed to further developments in this regard.
With the acquisition of Wiehahn Formwork and Scaffolding, PERI is showing a great deal of confidence in South Africa and Africa, given the depressed nature of global markets. Country MD, Johan Cilliers, say’s “The local management of Wiehahn Formwork and Scaffolding has welcomed the acquisition as a vote of confidence and a positive investment in the construction industry in Africa. Wiehahn’s employees are excited about joining the ‘PERI Family’ and bringing additional service offerings to their market and customers.”
