Two complete floors in only 8 days
The unusual building with ground floor, six upper floors as well as underground parking has around 25,000 m² of floor area. The two boomerang-shaped structural wings, which are positioned opposite to each other, are rotated by ninety degrees above the third upper floor. This results in two covered entrances leading into the landscaped inner courtyard. The holding construction required for this bridging is integrated in the three office storeys above. Construction was scheduled to be finished in only 13 months and unusually high quality requirements had to be maintained.
SKYDECK panel formwork was used to construct each of the over 1,000 m² large slab areas. The use of the drophead system allowed faster material handling and also reduced the amount of on-site material requirements. MULTIPROP and PEP 30 steel tube props ensured that the loads from the 28 cm thick reinforced concrete slab, for storey heights of 3.43 m to 4.13 m, were safely transferred. For the slab edges, pre-assembled table modules combined with trapezoidal-shaped UNIPORTAL slab tables were cost-effectively used. These were quickly moved to the next floor by means of a transportation fork without the need of any horizontal transportation.
The stairwells were to be constructed in the best possible architectural concrete quality, SB 4, and outstanding finishes were achieved with VARIO girder wall formwork. The excellent concrete surface results were particularly accentuated through the orderly tie, bolt and element grid arrangement. Perfect concrete surfaces and fast assembly were also required for the construction of the 490 circular reinforced concrete columns. With the SRS circular column formwork, the 45 to 55 cm diameter columns could be constructed not only cost-effectively but also very safely through the use of the system-compatible concreting platforms.
