In the complex area with an extremely tight outer radius, the concentrated loads of the radially-arranged cantilever brackets are transferred into the available bridge piers by means of pressure supports.
The expansion of the Lanaye lock facility required the new construction of a 200 m long road bridge.
The VARIOKIT steel composite formwork carriage could be adapted to match the geometrical and static requirements which included 4.50 m cantilevers.
Construction of the steel composite bridge was carried out using formwork carriages and cantilever brackets – both based on the VARIOKIT modular construction kit.
On both banks of the river, the bridge construction features two 90° bends - with extremely tight axis radii of almost 30 m respectively.
