The Project
Impressions from the project process
Two steel arches, each with a span of 148 m, carry the middle section of the Waldschloesschen Bridge 26 m above the Elbe.
The carriageway slab of the steel composite bridge was constructed in 21 concreting sections. The raised formwork units used were based on rentable system components taken from the VARIOKIT engineering construction kit.
The raised formwork units were comprised of rentable VARIOKIT system components on which GT 24 lattice girders provided support for the formlining.
The project-specific solution with lightweight raised formwork units facilitated fast and simple moving to the next concreting section with the crane.
The Waldschloesschen Bridge connects the eastern and southern districts of the city with areas in the north of Dresden.
Between the two steel arches a 14 m wide carriageway was constructed consisting of four lanes, on both sides of the bridge 4.45 m wide pedestrian and cycle lanes cantilever outwards.

Project leader
PERI offered us the most coherent approach for the superstructure formwork, tailor-made for the given bridge geometry. The formwork suggestions were already very detailed during the tender stage. Taking into consideration the local conditions, the VARIOKIT substructure meant the best option for us. This could be smoothly adjusted to any local circumstances.
